How it works...

Initial set up…

• The Smart-Fill control unit is installed onto your fuel dispenser.

• You load your keys and PIN numbers (PIN numbers are optional)  into the Smart-Fill control system.

• You install the SmartFill software onto your pc, and enter your vehicle / driver details into the SmartFill software.

Fuelling a vehicle with the Smart-Fill…

• The driver touches the vehicle ID key (ibutton) to the sensor on the front of the Smart-Fill unit.  This key identifies the vehicle to the Smart-Fill. If the key is not authorized, the fuel dispenser won’t start.

• The Smart-Fill then requests the drivers pin number (optional), followed by the vehicle Speedo / hour meter reading (optional). The driver enters these into the Smart-Fill keypad.

• The Smart-Fill checks the drivers pin number (this identifies the driver). If the pin number is not valid, the fuel dispenser won’t start, if the pin number is valid then the dispenser works normally.

• The driver then fuels the vehicle. Once the fuel delivery has finished, the Smart-Fill saves the delivery details in its memory.

Transferring the fuel data to an office computer…

• At the end of each preferred time period (weekly / monthly etc), the fuel data is transferred from the Smart-Fill unit to an office computer using a memory card. This eliminates the need to run data cables or carry a laptop computer to your fuel bowser. You can also install a modem for downloading data.

• You simply unlock the SmartFill door, and insert the memory card, then use the MENU key (managers key) and choose to save data to the card. Then simply wait until it beeps and tells you to remove the card. This operation copies all of your fuel use history onto the memory card.

• You then take the memory card into your office, and download the data onto your pc using the special Smart-Fill software.

• The Smart-Fill software on your computer downloads the data on the memory card, directly into a spreadsheet format, which you can open in almost any spreadsheet program. i.e. Microsoft Excel® or Microsoft Works® etc. The format is a “.csv” (comma separated value) file. • Also at this time you can choose to create basic maintenance reports, or key totals reports etc.
  You then clear the memory at your Smart-Fill unit to start the next fuel recording period.
  
  

Smart-Fill has many features not found in systems costing twice the price. Please take the time to obtain a quotation to install a complete system. When comparing prices, remember that you don’t have to run data cables etc to a Smart-Fill system. You can also fit a mobile phone modem to a Smart-Fill system and simply dial into the unit from your office computer to download the data. (Requires the Smart-Fill to be in an area covered by the phone network).

·          The system can be used as a “preset” delivery system. This is ideal for lube trucks or workshop lube dispensing systems.

·          No battery backup is required for data in memory, plus data is stored onto 2 separate memory chips as an additional backup.

·          A low memory warning system tells you when you need to download data.

·          It may be installed to just about any fuel bowser or meter.
